BAE Systems/EPSRC FLAVIIR Project Technologies for Unmanned Airborne Vehicles

The FLAVIIR programme is a 5 year research initiative aiming to deliver novel technologies for future UAV’s in the areas of aerodynamics, automated control, electromagnetics and low cost manufacturing. The project, which involves 10 universities, will culminate with flying demonstrations of the newly developed technologies in 2008/9.
The 5th FLAVIIR conference, continuing the theme of the 4th conference, improves cohesion and stimulates university-university and university-industry dialogue. Key technologies will be explained and developments in the project since the 4th FLAVIIR conference held in November 2007 will be showcased. Concentration will focus on the various technology demonstration activities being undertaken within the project. Delegates will be invited to take part in discussions and workshops.
Conference Programme
The conference will run over two days, from 9.30am on 18th November to 16.30 on 19th November.
Interested suppliers are invited to participate in the conference to explore how the potential low cost UAV market may create changing relationships within the traditional supply routes.
Conference Proceedings
All papers presented during the conference will be published in electronic format to FLAVIIR programme members, and will be made available after the conference.
Registration Fee
The conference is free of charge to BAE Systems/FLAVIIR Members. The conference dinner on the 18th November is included. Delegates will however, be expected to pay for any accommodation required (Rooms have been reserved for conference delegates until Friday 17th October in CMDC and in Mitchell Hall until 19 th September). All other delegates will be required to pay the day delegate rate of £83 (Inc. VAT). This covers a three course buffet lunch, refreshments throughout the day and a 3 course conference dinner on the Tuesday evening.
